Sleeping Safe!

Well, I felt very safe when I went to bed the other night being protected by my boys. Notice what they have in their hands.

Yep thats right-- toy guns. Brian has a little pistol and Andrew has a rifle. They picked up these great toys at a Relief Society Swap night we went to at the church the other day. They were fighting dinosaurs before they went to bed and apparenlty snuck their weapons to bed without me knowing. They are true boys!! Luckily, no dinosaurs attacked in the night, but I know if they had we would have been safe. (HAHAHA!!)

Sticky Tape

The leg got pulled off Andrew's toy lizard and he was trying very hard to fix it. He did this all on his own. He doesn't even know I took the pictures. I peaked around the corner to see what he was doing and got them. He's on the kitchen counter because he had to crawl up to get the tape out of the cupboard. If' it's not one kid on the counter than I guess its another!

As you can guess the tape didn't do so well in holding it together. So before he wasted the whole roll I stepped in to help him and we used the Super Glue. That did the trick and the toy lizard is all better now.

"T" which stands for trouble!

As I have mentioned before T is a climber and is always getting into everything. So here are some of the unique places that we found him this week.

The cupboard (obviously this one doesn't have a lock, but it will soon!)

The kitchen sink. He loves to play here. It's not as bad when the faucet is running in the opposite sink from where he is sitting. But when its not then it runs right into his lap and makes quite a mess. It also scares me to death when he turns on the garbage disposal. He just laughs and thinks its funny as it vibrates beneath him.

The counter. He's actually on his way to the sink in this picture. He already crawled all the way down the counter to get to this point.

In the drawer. Yes, thats right the drawer. He didn't use the other drawers to crawl up, he pushed his high chair over, crawled up into it and then pulled out the drawer and got in. He was finding all kinds of treasures here, he thought anyway.

After the drawer got boring he moved up on to the counter where he found some bananas to snack on. He did get a banana the other day and somehow peeled it and ate it. I didn't notice him until it was gone. Only the peel remained as evidence.

Well there you have it. One of the worst things he did all week though there is no picture of. I went outside to bring the garbage can in after the garbage truck had come and he came behind me and turned the dead bolt on the door and locked me out. After about 5 minutes of knocking on the window I finally got Andrew's attention. He was busy watching TV and was quite enthralled (a true boy!) He took one look and then went back to watching TV. After more pounding and another 5 minutes Andrew finally came and let me back in. Then he proceeded to get mad at me because I hadn't brought him his drink yet. What love!! All the while T was walking around smiling and laughing thinking it was all so funny.

Mama's Little Helper

Andrew is my little helper. When I cleaned all three of the bathrooms in our house the other day he was right there on top of me wanting to help. I gave him several different jobs that he was very happy to do. With each new assignment he would tell me with pride, "It's my job!" The thing he was the most excited about was cleaning the toilet. Amazing I know-- apparently Derek hasn't engrained in his mind enough yet that toilets are yucky!! Watching him you would have thought that cleaning the toilet was the best thing ever. I kept telling him that I thought he was done and it was clean enough and he kept telling me, "Not yet!" No quickie job from him. He was very excited to show Brian what we/he had done when he got home from school. Maybe at this rate he won't end up with the same aversion to toilets that Derek has. I guess we will see.

The Quick Summary

OK- now that I have this up and running I thought I would give a "quick" summary to bring everyone up to date about what was going on with us.

We are currently stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina as part of the 82nd Airborne. We have been here for about a year. Living in the East and the South are new experiences for us but we like it here. Despite the humidity, heat, and bugs.

Derek is currently deployed to Afghanistan. He left in January and we expect him home some time next spring. He was home for his R&R at the end of July. So he was home for Brian's birthday. The time together was wonderful but not long enough. We look forward to his return!

I (Jodi) enjoy staying home with the boys. They are very active and keep me very busy. I am also the 2nd counselor in the primary presidency. I do a lot more dreaming about than actually doing many of the things I enjoy like scrapbooking, sewing, reading, and crafts. Someday!!

Brian just started kindergarten. He goes all day. The bus picks him up at 8 am and drops him off at 2:50 pm. He loves it and can't wait for the weekend to get over so he can go back. When's he's not at school he also likes to play Playstation (Star Wars Legos II), ride his bike, and wrestle with his brothers.
The boys do love to wrestle, all three of them-- but they really do love each other too.

Andrew loves books and puzzles. He will play with a puzzle all afternoon. He is only 3 but that doesn't stop him from doing the 100 piece puzzles labeled "ages 6 and up." He can do them too, he's amazing. He likes to help his mommy too. He especially likes to help me cook.

Timothy is now 14 months old and is real little "Curious George." He runs everywhere and is always getting into everything. I got so tired of him always getting into my kitchen cupboards that I got out the drill and put the child locks on myself. I have never used a drill before, that's supposed to be the Dad's job-- the things you get to do as an Army wife!! He is also proving to be a climber. We are always finding him up on everything. His two favorite places are sitting in the bathroom and kitchen sinks. He can turn the kitchen sink on so that one makes quite the mess.

Well thats the quick run down. It didn't take as long as I thought it would!

The Beginning

Well, we have tried several other blog sites and not had much success. I have enjoyed looking at everyone else's blogs on this site so we decided to try this one out and see if it works any better for us. Now I just have to figure out how to make them so cute like you all do.
